About the program

Cyberleaf is a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) and CMMC advisory firm supporting clients across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). Through this SkillBridge internship, transitioning service members gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of a compliance engagement, from technical assessment work through the production and delivery of client-facing deliverables. The role directly supports the NIST SP 800-171/800-172 and CMMC frameworks that protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across the defense supply chain. This role combines cybersecurity compliance, client delivery, and consulting operations experience in a live Defense Industrial Base environment.

Jobs this program prepares you for

Cybersecurity Compliance & Assessments Support CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 gap assessments and control mapping across NIST SP 800-171 domains. Develop and review client-facing deliverables, including System Security Plans, policies, POA&Ms, control mapping workbooks, and assessment reports. Client Delivery & Engagement Support Track deliverable timelines and quality against engagement scope, helping ensure work products are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule. Work alongside CMMC Certified Professionals (CCPs) and senior consultants on live DIB client engagements, including client check-ins and deliverable walkthroughs. Security Operations Exposure Gain exposure to MSSP security operations, including log monitoring, audit log retention architecture, and incident response workflows. Internal Capability Building Participate in internal capability-building projects, including security awareness content, control documentation, and client workbooks.
