Jobs this program prepares you for

The Field Service Technician Fellowship role supports advanced technical maintenance, repair, and field operations for complex aerospace and defense systems. Fellows work alongside experienced technicians to learn expert‑level diagnostic and troubleshooting methods, gaining exposure to field project execution, customer interaction, and cross‑functional collaboration. In this role, Fellows assist with performing high‑level maintenance and repairs, helping resolve challenging technical issues and supporting the completion of field service projects. They learn how to manage tasks independently in a field environment while reinforcing accuracy, safety, and adherence to regulations. The Fellowship provides hands‑on opportunities to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals, and to work with electrical wiring concepts and troubleshooting techniques. Fellows also observe leadership responsibilities by shadowing senior technicians during mentorship and team‑support interactions. They contribute to developing and delivering technical training materials for both customers and internal personnel, and gain experience maintaining detailed documentation of field activities, equipment status, and service outcomes. Throughout the Fellowship, participants strengthen their ability to communicate technical information, manage tools and spare parts, support inventory control, and generate clear and comprehensive technical reports. Travel to customer sites—including potential international travel—provides real‑world exposure to field service environments and customer engagement expectations.
