About the program

The Strategy-to-People Planning Integration Initiative establishes a clear, repeatable operating model to bridge the gap between organizational strategic planning and workforce execution. Rather than inserting Human Resources into every strategic activity, this project defines the exact intersection points, decision rights, and handoff mechanisms among Strategy, HR, Finance, and Unit Leadership.Centering on the critical transition from Strategy → Capabilities → Organization & Workforce → Talent → Execution, the initiative builds a stage-gate framework to identify people implications early enough to shape strategy while respecting the core boundaries of each functional domain.Key Objectives:Clarify Roles & Decision Rights: Establish explicit accountabilities (RACI) across Strategy, HR, Finance, and Business Unit Leaders throughout the planning continuum.Define HR Engagement Triggers: Replace blanket HR involvement with a tiered model (Low, Moderate, High impact) triggered by specific strategic conditions (e.g., capability gaps, restructures, rapid scaling).Formalize Handoffs & Bridge Mechanisms: Codify the transition where strategic priorities become required organizational capabilities, transferring primary ownership from Strategy to HR without losing alignment.Integrate Financial & Workforce Planning: Ensure workforce capacity, organizational design, and talent acquisition assumptions directly tie into financial models and budget cycles.
