About the program

The Athletic Trainer SkillBridge Program provides transitioning service members with structured exposure to civilian sports medicine operations and athletic training practices. Participants will gain experience in clinical, school, athletic, community, and event-based environments while developing an understanding of injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, documentation, interdisciplinary communication, and emergency response. The program is designed to gradually increase the participant's involvement throughout the 13 weeks while maintaining appropriate supervision and remaining within the participant's certification, licensure, and approved training scope. The Athletic Trainer position works across clinical, athletic, school, and event environments and may include travel, evening, and weekend coverage.
