Jobs this program prepares you for

Silverton Medical Rescue is offering a unique opportunity to practice emergency medicine in one of the nation's most beautiful and challenging environments – San Juan County, Colorado. Duties will include both traditional pre-hospital care and technical rescue. Other duties may be assigned according to an Intern's training and experience. Training opportunities for Interns may include any of the following: Continuing education required to maintain a current EMT-P license, technical rope rescue, swiftwater rescue, avalanche rescue, off-highway vehicle (OHV) operation, civilian medical protocols, and care of diverse civilian populations. Interns will typically work a "40-on 128-off" schedule (40 consecutive hours on-duty followed by 128 hours off-duty each week). While off-duty, Interns may, at their own discretion, respond to medical as well as Search and Rescue calls.
