About the program

Tasking can range in complexity and the employee has demonstrated knowledge and capability in the IT domain. Work at this level requires training and journeyman experience that results in an understanding of the IT subject matter. Work tasking and assignments will take into account urgency, priority, and constraints (e.g., budget, time) that create a need for the selectee to use judgement in decisions or compromises to satisfy the overall technical/management requirements. The selectee may work with a wide-range of projects at NIWC Pac, which may include major activity operational projects or programs. Based on experience, the selectee may be appointed to ad hoc tasks, may be asked to serve on teams, panels, or boards that are convened to discuss domain expertise, or command-wide policies and procedures. The selectee should have the ability to research IT domain issues and provide sound technical recommendations. On operational assignments, customer satisfaction, together with recognized technical proficiency, is a prime indicator of performance.
