These items are critical and must remain active for the entire duration of your training, as they are key to your participation.Upon acceptance into the program, you will arrange and fund your own transportation to the SkillBridge location. Throughout your training, you will be responsible for all personal living expenses, including housing, food, and local transportation. Please budget accordingly, as DLA Energy will not cover any of these living costs. While in the program, you may be selected for additional funded Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments designed to further support your training. In these cases, DLA Energy will fund the travel for these specific opportunities. To take advantage of such assignments, it is imperative that your GTC, CAC, and DTS accounts remain active and ready for use throughout your time with SkillBridge.

To ensure a smooth and efficient training experience, all participating members must arrive fully prepared. It is mandatory to have a valid Government Travel Card (GTC), a Common Access Card (CAC), and an active Defense Travel System (DTS) account. You must coordinate with your unit beforehand to guarantee these are active and available for the entire duration of the program. This role is physically demanding and requires a high level of fitness and agility. A Quality Assurance Specialist can expect to perform considerable and strenuous physical exertion daily. These tasks frequently include:• Climbing tall ladders to access storage tanks, some of which exceed 60 feet in height.• Crouching or crawling in restricted spaces.• Boarding petroleum marine vessel tankers via gangways or Jacobs Ladders.• Stooping and bending for extended periods, sometimes for several hours, while conducting thorough inspections of storage tanks. Additionally, some tanks may require cleaning, which involves further periods of standing and climbing. The work of a Quality Assurance Specialist regularly and recurrently takes place in potentially dangerous and challenging environments. Work is primarily conducted outdoors and is subject to all hours of the day and night, in and out of inclement weather conditions.Your safety is our top priority. You will work in close vicinity to explosive petroleum products, toxic laboratory chemicals, and various fuel additives. Therefore, you are expected to rigorously observe and enforce all applicable safety precautions at all times.
