About the program

At Bloomberg, we believe your service has prepared you to thrive in high-stakes, high-impact environments — and we’re ready to support your next chapter. The Bloomberg SkillBridge Software Engineer Fellowship is a full-time opportunity for transitioning service members to gain hands-on experience within one of the world’s most influential technology and data companies during the final six months of military service. As a fellow, you’ll be embedded on an engineering team where you’ll work on real-world projects that power global financial systems and impact millions of users. You'll be part of a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving — with a clear mission to bring transparency, efficiency, and fairness to the financial markets. Our program offers more than just technical exposure. You’ll receive mentorship from experienced engineers, access to robust training resources, and the chance to build meaningful professional relationships. Most importantly, you’ll develop the skills and confidence to navigate the civilian tech landscape and position yourself for long-term career success.

Jobs this program prepares you for

Bloomberg, the global business and financial information and news leader, gives influential decision makers a critical edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of information, people and ideas. The company’s strength – delivering data, news and analytics through innovative technology, quickly and accurately – is at the core of the Bloomberg Terminal. Bloomberg’s enterprise solutions build on the company’s core strength: leveraging technology to allow customers to access, integrate, distribute and manage data and information across organizations more efficiently and effectively. As a Software Engineer, Skillbridge Apprentices will participate in full lifecycle development across production systems, from design through deployment. Trainees will work with agile teams to build, test, and deploy scalable software solutions. They will contribute to real project deliverables, engage in code reviews, and enhance system reliability and performance. Responsibilities include backend and frontend development, DevOps, system architecture, and collaborating with product and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality applications.
