About the program

AFJROTC will provide retiring Airmen and Guardians who are interested in teaching and mentoring high school students in the areas of citizenship, community service, responsibility, and self-discipline, the opportunity to observe and assist with air and space fundamentals instruction as an AFJROTC Instructor intern. The program is designed as a 90-day, student-teaching-like internship, but the applicant and host unit instructor can modify the internship length, as the situation warrants. https://www.afaccessionscenter.af.mil/Holm-Center/AFJROTC/

Jobs this program prepares you for

Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI), Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) Instructors are all retired military members of the Department of the Air Force. Normally, one retired officer and one retired enlisted are employed by the school at each program. While Air Force Junior ROTC instructors are retired military members, they continue to wear their Air Force uniform (at their retired grade) in the performance of their duties. As such, instructors are required to meet and maintain uniform wear, grooming, and weight standards during their tenure as instructors.
