High Reliability OrganizationECU Health strives to be a high reliability organization (HRO). HROs are mindful organizations with the capability to perform to the highest standard consistently over time using principles of anticipation and principles of containment to prevent, detect, and correct unexpected events. ECU Health builds and sustains high reliability through safety habits, safety huddles, leader connections and follow up that provide opportunities to foster engagement with two-way, transparent communication to develop and sustain authentic "power with" relationships. Leaders and team member's thoughts and actions reflect the understanding that how we structure relationships with each other and our patients is the key to living our mission, vision and values. This embodies the Big E Experience; that how we experience each other is how our patients and families experience us.
